It could be because… We can understand how nature works by observing how birds interact with the environment where they live They help us train our senses and improve our ability to see and hear They inspire poetry, legends, stories, drawings, paintings, sculptures, dances, and songs They are sacred in different cultures and religions We can also study them simply because they are beautiful and cheerful. They come in many colors, and their flights, courtship displays, and behaviors are fascinating. We can find birds almost everywhere. Many times we can see them without even leaving our homes—from a window, at our front door, or in gardens, plazas, and parks. Although it’s always more interesting to go look for them in nature reserves, where there is usually greater diversity. There are many more species than you might imagine.
