The Globe & Maps

Geography should be learned primarily through maps, and children should begin studying it by understanding *what a map is* and how to use one. To do this, we begin this unit by studying the globe. From a complete understanding of our world, we then explore how a map is created, and finally move on to plans. This unit approaches geography and spatial orientation from the general to the specific.
